Behind the Scenes // Holiday Gift Collection Photoshoot

Those who know me well will tell you that I'm a champion procrastinator when it comes to Christmas shopping. Year after year, I'm the online shopper who pays outrageous amounts in expedited shipping fees as well as the fool at the mall on Christmas Eve wondering why they are completely sold out of that one perfect sweater for my Mom. Yet, now that I'm officially in the gifting business, I find it ironic that I actually have our 2015 Pre-Designed Holiday Gift Collection done and ready to be photographed by mid-October. My how things change!
Earlier this week, we were lucky enough to have Renee of Renee Hollingshead Photography over to shoot our gift designs. These will be the images that will appear on our e-commerce site in about a week or so to launch the collection. Here's an official sneak peek she just sent to me. Dying of excitement over here. Can't wait to see the rest.

And now for some true behind-the-scenes iPhone shots since this is a far cry from what ends up going on the website and social media. I love Renee. She always does whatever it takes to get the perfect shot no matter what.
The place was an absolute MESS and can you believe it? Only for seven gifts boxes! Check out my front porch! Luckily all the neighbors are getting used to seeing me outside (in ANY weather conditions) styling and photographing. They no longer slow down to stare as they're driving by. It's just become the new normal around here.
You'd think that styling seven gifts wouldn't take that long but it actually takes hours. Getting the lighting, positioning and styling JUST right, we finished up with mere seconds to spare before it was dark. And nothing like a good close-up shot of the hands to make you realize you're long overdue for a manicure!

We plan to officially launch the collection and begin taking orders the last week of October via the Pre-Designed Gift section on our website. We hope you'll follow along here as well as on Instagram and Facebook for announcements!
