Valentine's Pop-Up Shop for Aramark at Capital One Hall

When we were invited by Aramark to hold not just one, but TWO pop-up shops at the Capital One Headquarters in February, we were thrilled! While both were very different in nature, we enjoyed designing and planning the corporate event experiences around a Valentine’s Day theme, tying in the upcoming holiday, and allowing executives and their team members to gift those they love the most (or keep the gift for themselves...we don't judge!)

The first pop-up took place before a meeting for top executives at Capital One, giving us time to present to them who Marigold & Grey is, what we do, and why we love the art of full service gifting. After our presentation, the executives could then start their own M&G gifting experience with us. First step, selecting a beautifully pre-made gift featuring items sourced from small businesses. Even though both gifts were packed in hat boxes, the two options were diverse: a moody black and red self-care box or a white and pink box filled with artisan snacks. After making that choice, the executives then could select their gold foil gift tags featuring the messages of “Thank You”, “Enjoy”, and of course, “Happy Valentine’s Day”. Next up, satin ribbon and a handwritten notecard. The guests thoroughly enjoyed writing messages to loved ones, or even to themselves, tucking them in the envelope, then sealing it off with our custom M&G wax seals. We had an incredible time sharing our love of gifting and watching others experience it in action!

A week later, our second (and much larger!) pop-up was again held at Capital One Hall. But this time, with a more elaborate layout and process. Our team set up and displayed the gift packaging options along with the gift contents to go inside. In the true Marigold & Grey way, the set up included festive floral arrangements by our friends at Sweet Root Village and brightly colored vintage looking rugs from Someting Vintage to drive home the Valentine theme. With shelves stocked full of small batch candles, sweet and salty snacks, Marigold & Grey natural soap bars, and organic mini chocolate bars, our team enthusiastically greeted attendees as they arrived and guided them through the process of curating their own gift box. After selecting their gift contents, we helped them assemble their box with bunny tail accents, choose a foil gift tag with sentiment of their liking, pick a coordinating satin ribbon, and top it off with their own handwritten notecard. Each station featured custom signage such as “Grab Your Box”, “Select Your Sweets”, “Snag Some Savory”, “Score Some Self Care”, and so on. The most popular item for attendees? The small batch candles in plum cashmere and lavender driftwood scents!

Most attendees opted to send their gifts to their loved ones since they were out of town to attend the meetings. But others decided to take their box with them to enjoy for themselves, showing us that it’s just as important to gift ourselves some love on Valentine’s Day as it is to gift others!

This experience was one we will never forget here at Marigold & Grey. We loved helping meeting attendees hand pick their items, learn how to build a gift box the M&G way, and of course master how to tie the perfect bow. We want to thank Aramark and Capital One for inviting us to share our love of gifting and look forward to future events like this!
