HOW SHIPPING WORKS
HOLIDAY PRE-ORDERS & SHIPPING SCHEDULE:
Holiday Orders are defined as any gift box ordered with a "Happy Holidays," "Happy New Year," "Merry Christmas," or "Happy Hanukkah" gift tag selected. Holiday Orders placed in September, October, and November will be considered PRE-ORDERS and will begin shipping out between December 4th - December 8th in the order in which they were received. Orders placed on or after December 1st, regardless of gift tag selection, will ship according to our standard shipping schedule linked below.
TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED SHIPPING:
During warmer months of the year, M&G will ship gift boxes containing chocolate in temperature controlled packaging. A $10 surcharge covering materials will automatically be added to the cart for these specific gift boxes only. For reference, this designation applies to less than 10% of our online offering. Gift boxes that require temperature-controlled shipping will have this designation indicated in their product description. If you are interested in a particular gift box but wish to avoid this seasonal surcharge, please reach out to our team via firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to recommend a suitable alternative.
Our gift boxes are artisan in nature and proudly made to order! Once you place your order, allow 1-3 business days for production plus 5-7 business day transit time for delivery, not including the date your order was placed. (For example, if you place your order on a Monday, the latest your gift would ship out would be on Thursday.) To rush production on your order, please see the "Rush Shipping Options" section below.
For transit time, if you select "Free Shipping" at checkout, your gift will ship Economy SmartPost which is advertised as a 5-7 business day lead time (transit time not guaranteed) anywhere in the contiguous United States.
Important Exception: Orders requiring customization (i.e. our Add-Your-Own-Logo Program orders, personalized gift tags, customized tent cards, and/or monogrammed items) are subject to production times of 10 business days plus transit time. Large bulk orders may also involve extended production times depending on the size. If production time will exceed lead times outlined above, we will reach out and provide you with an accurate ETA based on the size of your order.
3 RUSH OPTIONS
--> RUSH SHIPPING VIA FEDEX (DELIVERY M-F)
We offer the following rush options at checkout: Fedex 2-Day, Fedex Next-Day Standard, and Fedex Next-Day Priority. For the FedEx 2-Day and Next-Day options, rush production is also included. If you place your order before 12 noon EST and select Fedex 2-Day, FedEx Next-Day Standard or Fedex Next-Day Priority at checkout, we will also expedite the production of your order so it will bypass our 1-3 day production period and ship out the same day (Monday through Friday). Fedex Next-Day orders placed after 12 noon EST and/or on weekends will ship out the following business day. Same-day production with Fedex Next-Day orders may not be available for bulk orders and if this is the case with your order, we will contact you immediately with a realistic turnaround time for production.
(We also offer Fedex Ground Residential (which delivers 7 days per week) and Fedex 3-Day Saver as additional expedited shipping options at checkout where available. For these specific shipping options, turnaround time will be 1-3 business days for production PLUS transit time.)
--> LOCAL HAND DELIVERY
We now offer Local Hand Delivery within the DC-area! Place your online order by 12 noon EST, select "Local Hand Delivery" and designate your preferred date/time for delivery at checkout, and we’ll have your order ready to go! You will receive an email from us letting you know the moment your gift has been picked up from our warehouse as well as when it has successfully delivered! Local Delivery is available Mon-Fri only.
--> SAME-DAY PICKUP
We offer Same-Day Local Pickup at our DC-area warehouse space! Place your online order by 12 noon EST, select "Local Pickup" at checkout, and we’ll have your gift ready by 2 pm that same day and available for pickup between 2 pm - 5 pm EST or anytime the following business day between 8 am – 5 pm. You will receive an email from us letting you know the moment your gift is officially ready! Pickup is available Mon-Fri only.
Our studio address is 11910 Parklawn Drive, Bay W, Rockville, MD 20852. Please come to the door labeled "Bay W" on the second floor and a member of our team will assist you. Please have a copy of your email confirmation ready so we can match it up to your order. (We do allow you to send a friend, family member, or courier to pickup on your behalf but they must bring along a copy of your email confirmation.) Until further notice, face masks are required while inside our warehouse space for the safety of our employees and clients. We look forward to seeing you soon! Quantities of more than five gifts may be subject to longer lead times. We will notify you immediately if your pickup time will vary from what's listed above. Same Day Local Pickup is NOT available for Add-Your-Own-Logo orders or gifts where customization/monogramming is selected.
COVID SHIPPING DELAYS
Transit times are continuing to vary greatly due to the impact Covid is having on supply chain. Therefore, we are unable to guarantee transit times with the exception of orders placed via Fedex 2-Day or Fedex Next Day. If your gift is time sensitive, please consider upgrading to rush shipping at checkout which may help speed things up. At this time, we do not issue refunds, offer discounts, or accept returns for gifts that experience transit delays as these delays are sadly of our control. Again, the only exception is Fedex 2-Day and Fedex Next Day which we are able to guarantee at this time.
Additionally, we have added the option to add Route Package Protection to your order at checkout in the event your order is extremely delayed, lost in transit, or unable to be located by your recipient despite tracking indicating a successful delivery. We strongly recommend adding Package Protection to your orders, especially during these challenging times.
If your gift is returned to our studio as undeliverable, we are happy to re-ship your gift following this protocol:
- We notify you via email and/or phone call that your gift box has been returned and the reason it was returned (i.e. not picked up, declined by recipient, invalid address)
- You provide us with an updated/valid mailing address to attempt re-delivery
- We open the shipping box and adjust anything that may have shifted around within the gift box during transit to make sure the gift is in perfect condition to be shipped again
- We repackage your gift in a brand new, clean shipping box with new packaging material
- The fee to re-process return-to-sender gifts is $15 plus the actual cost of postage
- We will send you an invoice electronically and once the invoice is paid, we will re-ship the gift to your recipient within 2 business days
- If the invoice is not paid within 5 business days of the invoice being sent, the gift is considered unclaimed and becomes the property of Marigold & Grey. No refunds or credits will be issued.
- If M&G does not receive a response within 10 business days of notifying you that the gift has been returned, the gift is considered unclaimed and becomes the property of Marigold & Grey. No refunds or credits will be issued.
SHIPPING TO A P.O. BOX
Fedex is unable to deliver to PO boxes so therefore we are unable to accept orders destined for PO boxes. Orders placed with a PO box listed as the address will immediately be cancelled and a full refund will be issued. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
