Usually when we dream up curated gift box designs for styled photoshoots, these projects are planned by others. But every now and then, I start feeling extra creative and I get the urge to plan a styled photoshoot for no other reason than to test my own creativity. I partnered with my dear friends Rachel of Rachel May Photography and DC wedding planner Caroline of Caroline Dutton Events to create a modern spin on a St. Patricks Day wedding at Longview Gallery. SO thankful to Washingtonian Bride & Groom for featuring it on their DC wedding blog!

Let's start with the welcome box! For this design, I combined metals, greens and soft ivories and whites across contents such as tea, San Pellegrino, toasted bagel chips, an oatmeal raisin bar and a love note on deckled edge card stock with wax seal. I'm loving all the contrast between industrial and soft. Did I mention green is my favorite color?!

The tablescape featured brass candlesticks with gold, black and copper candlesticks. Definitely in contrast with the soft, feminine florals and greenery by Petals and Promises. The cake by Buttercream Bakeshop was minimalistic with wide copper brushstrokes on a white cake and of course, tons of greenery at the base.

And now for our bride and groom. We wanted them to have a traditional yet unconventional look. The groom's bow tie. To die for, right?

And now let's take a closer look at these florals. Sweet little bouts and a bouquet with nothing but white blooms up against plenty of wild greenery. And the bride's Rent the Runway gown was certainly a showstopper!

One of my favorite elements we brought into the photo session was the vintage emerald green sofa we paired with an ultra masculine industrial trunk, both from White Glove Rentals. Perfect for styling cocktails and a letterpress invitation suite by Poppy & Scooter.

It's not often that I get involved in styling wedding photo sessions but with green being my obsession, I just couldn't help myself. As fun as it was, I think I'll stick to wedding welcome gifts from now on, or at least for a little while anyway.
