Custom Workshop Gifts for Justin & Mary Photography

Not only was it a pleasure to work with husband and wife team Justin & Mary Marantz of Justin & Mary Photography to design on-brand gifts to welcome their Walk Through a Wedding workshop attendees, but the images they styled and sent me. OHHHH the images! Receiving these took this already-a-dream-project to a whole new level I still can't even comprehend.

The goal was to use gifting to communicate their luxe, sophisticated, and timeless brand which is always a Marigold & Grey goal when designing custom client gifts or workshop gifts. For this project, I achieved this goal with color palette, messaging via modern calligraphy, texture, and of course the actual function of the gift contents themselves.
First, let's talk calligraphy. I immediately knew I wanted to try and incorporate one of J & M's favorite quotes to personalize a journal. Of the list of favorite quotes they sent me, I was most drawn to "We are a generation of storytellers, brought to a higher calling." Poppy & Scooter's lush, modern style was a perfect choice for not only the journals but also the gift tags.

When I design client and corporate gifts including workshops, I feel it's important to incorporate branding elements such as the logo. However, we never want it to look like an uptight, run-of-the-mill corporate gift. One way of getting around this is to turn the logo into a custom cookie. This not only communicates branding but also functions as a sweet treat the attendees can enjoy.

I also selected artisan, hand-crafted chocolates in high-end copper foil packaging along with mini bottles of bubbly to further create a luxury experience for the attendees. To show off J & M's love of grey, I added super soft pashminas which also communicate upscale warmth.
And, of course, blush ribbon to polish it all off!

We hope all of the #WalkThroughAWedding attendees enjoyed the workshop and their gifts! They were certainly a dream to design and build.
