Custom Welcome Gifts for Trouvaille Workshop // Part 1 of 4

FILED IN: Workshop Swag

Every now then, we complete a custom gift design project that's SO special, I procrastinate blogging it because HOW in the world could my words EVER do it justice? This is definitely the case with the FOUR rounds of custom workshop gifts we were hired to create for last year's Trouvaille Workshop, hosted by Rhi of Hey Gorgeous Events.

Because I'm a firm believer in better late than never, today's post will be Part One of this four-part series. Over the course of this week, I'll share the thought and aesthetic behind each gift design and its intended role within this very special workshop experience for wedding planners, floral designers and other creative entrepreneurs. Let's get started!

Gift One was intended to serve as the true "welcome gift" and greeted each attendee as they found their seats. In order to direct each attendee to their assigned seat, we tied hand-lettered calligraphy gift tags with each attendee name (MM Ink Studio) to each white-washed wood box using soft blue satin ribbon. I always love finding a way to make something functional also very beautiful.

Contents included a hand-made clipboard (Chris Simants), a custom cookie with the intricate Trouvaille logo (Fresh Bakes), a travel-sized candle tin (Riles & Co), electronic wipes in a chic grey/white striped packaging (Well Kept), a blush pashmina, and a custom-designed welcome booklet (Five Dot Design) with belly band and wax seal. Fresh garden roses and olive leaves were added to each gift crate just before the start of the opening session. With the Trouvaille Workshop involving so much floral design instruction, the blooms and greenery were certainly the perfect finishing touch to get the workshop off to a great start.

So often when we create gifts for events like wedding welcome gifts, corporate event gifts or workshop gifts like these, we don't actually get to see how the gifts are presented to the recipients. Since this project (and Rhi!!!) are so near and dear to my heart, I gladly made the trip from DC to North Carolina (with the car packed to the brim with gifts!) to make sure I was able to set up and style the gifts myself . Definitely not because Rhi's team couldn't do it but because it was a JOY to be a part of bringing the room to life. Clipping every last piece of greenery. Tying every last ribbon. Making sure the gift contents were styled identically from gift to gift. Lining the boxes up perfectly along the tables so the room was symmetrical. Feeling the energy of the team as everyone worked up until the very last moment as the very first attendee arrived. (A special thank you to my friend Caroline of Caroline Dutton Events who made the trip with me and helped with every single task I just described! Couldn't have done it without you!)

Please stay tuned for the remaining three gifts designs in this series as the week progresses. We cannot wait to share them with you! We'd also love to hear your feedback. Please leave a comment in the post or reach out via our contact page. We always love hearing from you!
