Freshman year of college, I made a promise to myself to take my studies elsewhere for a semester. Come junior year, it hit me that it was now or never. As a woman with a love of working, especially at Marigold & Grey, it was logical for me to intern instead of study abroad. While I'm still taking classes through my college (University of Kansas), this semester I am the corporate public relations intern at Tom Ford International in New York City! Somebody pinch me.
It began after that “oh crap” moment I think everyone has had during their college experience. You remember that one where you feel like there is still so much to squeeze in before graduation? I've known I wanted to work in the fashion world since I was five years old. But, given my 5’4" frame and love of pizza, I knew it had to be more behind-the-scenes and less runway! Fast forward sixteen years, mix in my studies in public relations and love of hospitality and here we are! My foot is actually in the door at an incredible and reputable company!
The bonus of this experience is my plan to meet and talk with our Marigold & Grey vendors in the area. And there are many! After being a remote help for nearly a year, I am ecstatic to dive into business relations more and share with our followers the art and talent of our fabulous artisan vendors!
I'll be documenting my adventures over the coming months so stay tuned!
