Top 15 Wedding Welcome Gift Designs of 2019

FILED IN: Holiday & Seasonal, Wedding Welcome Gifts

You may recall our recent release of our Top 10 Client Appreciation Gift Designs of 2019 but now it's time to mix it up a bit and share with you our Top 10 Wedding Welcome Gift Designs of 2019! This was a near impossible task to limit the list to just 15 but thankfully we came together as a team and finally managed to agree. We evaluated the projects based on how well they reflected each wedding's aesthetic, how well they represented details about the couple, and even the extent to which they included locally-sourced items.

Are you ready? Here are this year's winners....

CLASSIC WELCOME BOXES FOR

MISSOURI OZARKS WEDDING

When you think of a wedding in the mountains, you probably think "rustic" or "woodsy". Quite the contrary here! Aside from the smore's kits we included for guests to use at the firepits throughout the resort, these gifts were full of locally-sourced Missouri contents and presented in elegant ivory boxes with monogram gift tags. And because the couple was getting married in the Chapel of the Ozarks, we couldn't resist having a custom illustration created (thank you Shotgunning for Love!) to be included in the welcome letters inside the gifts. We even included a pair of custom OU cookies representing their alma mater as a personal touch!

VIRGINIA THEMED WELCOME BOXES

FOR SALAMANDER RESORT WEDDING

With most all guests traveling in from out of town for this Grit & Grace wedding, we opted for more of a "throw away" type box instead of a heavier box or basket that guests would have to haul home. But not so fast. This packaging decision didn't stop these gifts from being amazing. We packed them full of Virginia-sourced contents as a nod to the wedding location at the Salamander Resort in Middleburg, Virginia. To pull through some pink from the wedding color palette, we chose brightly colored La Croix seltzer cans as well as adorable watercolor cookies featuring a prop place carrying a J&J banner. This same plane also appears in the custom welcome letters done by Cheree Berry Paper. While we normally include welcome letters on the inside of our boxes, in this case, we wanted to jazz up the outside and opted to attached them to the outside lid underneath the ribbon in lieu of a gift tag.

BRIGHT AND LIVELY SANTA FE

WEDDING WELCOME BOXES

It's no secret that we adore neutrals around here. But these gifts were SO MUCH FUN! The couple was getting married in Santa Fe, New Mexico and wanted the cactus motif from the rest of their wedding pulled through the gift design. Challenge accepted! We included locally-sourced pistachios, enchilada-flavored tortilla chips, custom cactus shaped cookies (thank you Sugar Rex), and even black bandanas for guests to wear at the more casual welcome reception! We finished the gifts off with coral ribbon and gift tags featuring their southwest-inspired floral design consistent with the rest of their wedding invitation suite and day-of paper. Planning by Birch Event & Design.

PERSONALIZED WELCOME BAGS FOR

VIRGINIA WINERY WEDDING

These gifts are a prime example of telling a couple's love story via their wedding welcome gifts. Not only did we represent several stages of their relationship using various gift contents, but we had custom illustrations created to explain the symbolism of each for guests to read in the welcome booklet. We began with crisp white gift bags with green ribbon to match the overall aesthetic of the wedding and included New York bagel chips to represent where they met and go engaged, a lock and key custom cookie set representing the Lock Bridge in Paris where they celebrated their engagement, green apples from an orchard local to the wedding venue to represent Virginia where they'd say "I Do" and Pellegrino to represent Italy where they would honeymoon. And since the wedding was held at Early Mountain Vineyards, we even included monogrammed cork bottle stoppers. Mini amenity kits were also created in packaged in mini white boxes with matching sage green ribbon. Classic monogram gift tags on the outside of the gift bags were the perfect finishing touch. Planning by Amoré Events by Cody in Charlottesville, Virginia.

HILTON HEAD OCEAN-INSPIRED

WEDDING WELCOME BOXES

When weddings are held at the beach, it doesn't mean the wedding welcome gifts have to be "cheesy beach" style. Quite the opposite! The can be an elegant ocean style and this is exactly the direction we went in with these welcome boxes for a Hilton Head, South Carolina wedding with Hitched by Heather. We included locally sourced snacks, waters, and even a luxury 'Salt & Shore' candle. We created small, subtle amenity bags with a hand-stamped first aid symbol to blend in nicely with the rest of the design. And last but not least, the welcome letters and gift tags pulled through the same chinoiserie pattern that was used in the couple's invitation suite. We finished the gifts off with soft steel blue satin ribbon. Planning by Hitched by Heather.

BEACH-INSPIRED WELCOME BOXES

FOR JAMAICA ISLAND WEDDING

We absolutely loved the contrast between the soft neutrals on the inside of these gifts and the bright and lively tropical colors on the outside of these boxes. Because you can't ship any coffee into Jamaica like the bride originally wanted, we switched to a gorgeous tea instead along with a tortuga rum cake. Then a separate coffee setup was created by the wedding planning firm Haute Fetes when guests arrived at the resort in Jamaica. So, problem solved there! We included the couple's custom watercolor crest (featuring the bride's beloved dog Fozzy!) on their welcome booklets as well as for the welcome gift tags on the outside of the box. We included luxe turkish beach towels and affixed them to the outside of the boxes underneath the ribbon for a double layered look. Brown sugar shortbread, coffee mugs with their monogram and custom amenity kits rounded out the design!

ITALY-INSPIRED WELCOME GIFT BOXES

FOR LAKE COMO WEDDING

With a wedding in Lake Como for a DC couple, we knew we wanted to capture the Italy vibe in the gifts with a nod to the couple's hometown too. We began the design with soft ivory boxes with filled them with Tuscan Pizzetta, Italian spring water, custom cookies with their monogram, and Popped Republic popcorn (from a well-known food truck in Washington DC). Because all guests were traveling from the US into Italy, we also include outlet adapters and jazzed up the boxes with their monogram design as well. We also included custom amenity bags featured their monogram. We finished them off with lush satin ribbon in blush along with monogram gift tags and a sprig of olive branch for final touch of Italy! We shipped these out internationally for them to arrive in Lake Como just in time for guests to arrive and receive them! Planning by Ema Giangreco Weddings.

FALL-INSPIRED WEDDING WELCOME BAGS

FOR SALAMANDER RESORT VIRGINIA WEDDING

Virginia weddings in the fall are some of our absolute favorites to design wedding welcome bags for and these are no exception. We began with jute bags with bamboo handles and filled them with locally sourced contents representing Virginia. Items included Virginia peanuts, Virginia-made caramels, lightly salted potato chips, Pellegrino, and custom dogwood cookies...the official flower of Virginia! Welcome letters were designed by Steph B & Co along with matching gifts tags and we finished the bags off with a deep burgundy ribbon to pull the entire wedding aesthetic together. These were hand-delivered directly to the Salamander Resort in Middleburg, Virginia in plenty of time to greet guests upon arrival! Planning by Ida Rose Events.

WASHINGTON DC WEDDING WELCOME BAGS

FOR PAKASTANI WEDDING

While there were several events making up this Washington, DC wedding weekend, some of the common colors throughout were shades of purple and gold. So we did our best to incorporate this color palette into the gifts. We selected sturdy jute gift totes and filled them with snack bars by local Buttercream Bakeshop, B&R Farms apricots, Topo Chico mineral waters, sea salts chips, and several types of candies that we sub-packaged in gorgeous jeweled drawstring pouches. We also included Washington DC welcome guides by Washingtonian Magazine but to keep them in line with the gift design, we separately wrapped them in tissue paper and secured them with stickers mirroring the same floral motif found in the stationery suite, as well as their welcome letter and gift tag, by LH Calligraphy. We finished the bags off with lavender satin ribbon for a luxurious touch before hand delivering them to the Ritz Carlton in DC. Event planning and design by Karson Butler Events.

LUXURY WELCOME BOXES FOR

ORCAS ISLAND WEDDING

When a wedding is held on Orcas Island and a percentage of the guests opt to stay in a Yert Village created just for the wedding weekend, the welcome gifts end up being pretty spectacular. This is precisely the case for these elegant ivory and green gift boxes created for a Sinclair & Moore couple. We filled the gifts with locally sourced items such as Fran's chocolates and San Juan salts along with an artisan nut mix and Pellegrino bottles to further pull together the green in the gifts. Guests also received laser etched coaster sets with the couple's dragonfly-inspired monogram and custom tote bags also featuring the monogram. And since guests were "glamping", they were each gifted a pair of Havianas flip flops to get back and forth from the showers. We even created oversized amenity kits packaged in their own ribboned boxes filled with silk eye masks, mini flashlights to get around camp, Rosebud Salve, Altoid tins, earplugs, and even lavender towelettes. Such thoughtful touches for guests traveling such far distances to be a part of the weekend celebration! We finished the gifts off with custom welcome letters, monogram gift tags, and moss green satin ribbon. Monogram design by Grey & Cake.

CHERRY BLOSSOM-INSPIRED WELCOME BOXES FOR WASHINGTON DC WEDDING

It's always fun when weddings in DC coincide with when the world renowned cherry blossoms are in bloom. This is the case with these custom DC-inspired wedding welcome boxes for an extra special Soco Events couple. We included locally-sourced popcorn from Popped Republic and the special edition cherry blossom cookies from Milk Bar. We also included more functional items like Voss waters to keep guests hydrated as well as mini amenity kits featuring their monogram on custom printed drawstring bags. We finished the gifts off with tri-fold style welcome booklets by Cheree Berry Paper, classic and elegant monogram gift tags, and extra wide sage green satin ribbon!

BALTIMORE THEMED WEDDING WELCOME BOXES

WITH A TOUCH OF PITTSBURGH

These clients were some of the most gracious we've ever had the pleasure of working with. They are from Pittsburgh but wanted to treat guests to a fun-filled wedding weekend in Baltimore with planning and design by Lemon & Lime Event Design. Their color palette was white, shades of grey, and blush so we began with crisp white fold-over boxes and filled them with all of the quintessentially Baltimore contents you can imagine such as crab chips, Mouth Party caramels, Old Bay Seasoning, and Old Bay flavored chocolates in the shape of red and blue crabs. So fun, right?! But we couldn't ignore the couple's strong roots and so we included custom helmet cookies of the Pittsburgh Steelers by Sugar Rex. If you're a NFL fan, you know that Baltimore and Pittsburgh do NOT mix but in this case, it all came together perfectly. Cheree Berry Paper created custom welcome booklets including a map of Baltimore and all of the events for the weekend along with monogram gift tags.

EQUESTRIAN-INSPIRED WELCOME BAGS

FOR MIDDLEBURG VIRGINIA WEDDING

For our equestrian bride traveling from out of state to get married in horse and wine country in Virginia, we wanted to create gift bags that had the equestrian vibe without being too "themey". So naturally, jute bags with faux leather handles were a great starting point to achieve this aesthetic. We then filled the bags with locally-sourced Virginia snacks and finished the bags off with gift tags featuring the couple's elegant monogram.

CATALINA ISLAND WELCOME BOXES

FOR CALIFORNIA WEDDING

For these Catalina Island wedding welcome boxes, we wanted to provide some sweet and savory treats for guests to enjoy throughout their stay while also including a few items to use at the beach. For snacks with included an artisan nut mix, gourmet cookies, and our favorite...mojito gummies! The wedding color palette was pink and blush so we were able to keep the gift contents pretty close to this when selecting the contents. We also selected turkish beach towels for the outside of the gift boxes as well as travel sized spf bottles for the inside! Custom welcome letters and matching 'Welcome to Catalina Island' gift tags with a floral motif finished off the design! Paper by Just Write Studios.
