Our goal was to capture the core elements of our couples' lives in D.C. while staying true to their wedding aesthetic. Playing on their romantic color palette of muted pinks, greens, and greys, we started with a glossy white gift box as the vessel for these gifts. Then, we selected a lavish silver satin ribbon (that perfectly matched our couple's wedding invitation) to tie the whole gift together! As the finishing touch, we included a custom gift tag with the bride and grooms' name and wedding date affixed to the exterior ribbon for a touch of personalization.
Now for our favorite part - the locally sourced contents! Inside each curated gift box, guests would discover both keepsake items and edible treats to enjoy both now and later. For the keepsake items, we included a beautifully illustrated folded map of the National Mall featuring 22 colored illustrations of landmarks to check out when exploring the city, a cherry blossom scented soap crafted from pure organic shea butter, and a bird watching journal (one of our couple's favorite hobbies) featuring a beautiful gold-foil stamped cover with 20 entries for documenting the area's many species. Now for the gourmet snacks! We included a mixture of locally crafted bites including gourmet vanilla sea salt caramels complete with a cherry blossom design, a custom capitol-shaped sugar cookie, the “Best Nuts Ever” mix from a local bakery, and refreshing hibiscus & rose seltzer waters.
To bring these custom curated wedding welcome gift boxes full circle, we included a custom notecard with a few words from our couple welcoming their guests to Washington, D.C. These personalized notecards also served a dual purpose by providing the schedule of events on the back.
