Custom Welcome Boxes for Maryland Equestrian Farm Wedding with Carte Blanche Events

While at first you might think that these custom wedding welcome gifts for a Maryland equestrian farm wedding (with DMV wedding planner Carte Blanche Events) are more geared towards a fall event, think again! These were actually created for a May wedding and we loved the challenge of combining bright, bold spring colors with a deep hunter green for a fun spin on the typical rustic look normally associated with outdoor farm weddings.

Our sweet couple met on a horse farm and so it made perfect sense that they would return to the same spot to be married. We set the tone with kraft boxes for a natural, outdoorsy look. We managed to keep the contents inside the gifts to a the couple's color palette of green, coral, copper and gold with a few fun hints of aqua blue. For snacks we included kettle cooked chips, locally-sourced cheese crisps, peanut butter cups (the groom's favorite!) and a custom cookie in the shape of a horseshoe with floral accents (Sugar Studio). We rounded out the snacks with color coordinating bottles of San Pellegrino.

Let's talk about the paper! The paper, along with the colorful cookie, are the pieces that helped us achieve the springtime look. The colorful plaid border in blue, coral and hunter green around the welcome notes was such a fun touch! Then on the gift tags, we did copper wax seals featuring the couple's monogram along with "welcome" in soft blue script. Without the welcome letters and gift tags (both my Paperzest!), the gifts definitely would've leaned a little too fall and so these designs were key!

In addition to the information provided to the wedding guests on the welcome letters, the couple also wanted to provide Visitor's Guides to Frederick, Maryland. The color palette of the guides just happened to match the color palette of the wedding perfectly (LOVE when these little design miracles happen!) and so we simply slipped them underneath ribbon and tag and presented them in this way rather than putting the guides inside the boxes. In doing this, guests received a paper item on both the outside of the gift boxes and on the inside which only added to the experience of opening these welcome boxes.

Speaking of ribbon, we finished off the gift boxes with luxurious hunter green raw edge ribbon and used the ribbon to affix the custom gift tags.

At first when we received the design inspiration for this wedding and learned that it was at an equestrian farm, as I said, I was thinking that the gifts would end up looking like they belonged in an October wedding versus a May wedding. But we were definitely up for the challenge! I'm over-the-moon thrilled with how we were able to combine both the bold pops of colors with the rustic elements for wedding welcome gifts that perfectly matched our clients' event.
