This summer, one of our team members here at Marigold & Grey had the exciting opportunity to attend the WBENC National Conference in New Orleans. We’re thrilled to share a peek behind the scenes! As an all-women owned and operated small business, supporting fellow women-powered businesses is a core part of who we are and what we believe in at M&G.

Hosted by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, this annual event is the largest conference of its kind for women-owned businesses in the United States. It brings together women entrepreneurs, corporate executives, diversity professionals, and government representatives for several days of networking, education, and celebration of women in business.

Clair, our Account Executive here at Marigold & Grey, represented us at the conference. (If you're interested in custom corporate gifting, Clair will be instrumental in bringing your gifts together and you'll likely talk to her at some point during the process.) She came back energized by the connections, conversations, and sense of community she experienced.

Clair is sharing with us her personal reflections from the week. Here is Clair in her own words...

Attending the WBENC National Conference for the first time was an incredibly inspiring experience. It was exciting to meet women from across the country who are working tirelessly to build businesses, create opportunities, and support one another along the way. The energy and passion in every conversation was palpable! It was almost like one big pep rally for women in business 😊

There was also a strong sense of encouragement from larger companies that are eager to support small, women-owned businesses - offering partnerships, mentorship, and access to resources that can help elevate their work. I especially appreciated the opportunity to learn directly from industry leaders who shared their journeys, challenges, and insights.

While the conference could be a bit overwhelming at times - with so many people, sessions, and opportunities packed into one space - everyone I met was incredibly supportive, welcoming, and eager to connect.

One of the most memorable parts of the event was a fast-paced networking "meet and greet" styled like speed dating. It was a very fun and creative way to connect with various industry representatives!

Another standout moment was a keynote conversation featuring Chrissy Teigen, who spoke candidly about entrepreneurship, creativity, and navigating challenges while staying true to yourself. Her honesty and humor were a refreshing reminder that success looks different for everyone.

Overall, the conference was a powerful reminder of the strength, creativity, and resilience of women in business. I'm grateful for the connections made, the inspiration gained, and the chance to have such an amazing opportunity!

We’re so proud to be part of the WBENC community and to support the movement for women-owned businesses. From connecting with powerhouse women entrepreneurs to hearing real talk from industry leaders, Clair’s experience at WBENC was a meaningful step forward for our M&G team, and a reminder of why our gift design work as a all-women team matters so much.

A big thank you to WBENC and all the incredible attendees who made the week so memorable. We’re already looking forward to the next one in Salt Lake City, UT!
