Last week, we announced the winner of our Bride-to-Be Gift Giveaway over on our Instagram page! After notifying Kaitlin Roach that she was the winner, we couldn't stop there. We just HAD to get to know her a little better since we all love hearing a good love story, right?

She and her fiancé, Dylan, are long-time sweethearts and both from Eldersburg, Maryland. Kaitlin is currently a first grade teacher in Montgomery County and has had a busy summer planning for both the upcoming school year, as well as her wedding! They're planning a July 2016 wedding in Pennsylvania.

Q: Tell me about how Dylan proposed.

A: Dylan told me he wanted to go on a sunset hike to the Shenandoah mountains in Virginia after I got done student teaching one day (hiking is nothing out of the ordinary for us). On the way to Shenandoah National Park, we got stuck in a ton of traffic and didn’t make it to Shanendoah until 6:45 and the sun was supposed to set at 7:30! We climbed up to the top of Mary’s Rock and made it just it time to watch the sun go down. It was a breathtaking and gorgeous sunset on top of the mountain. As the sun was setting Dylan pulled out a pair of binoculars and was looking around. He told me to look over there by the entrance to the park, which was about 3000 ft away. I was looking through the binoculars for awhile because I honestly did not see what he was referring to, until I came across a white sign. I had to refocus the binoculars, and then I saw a sign that said 'Will you Marry Me'?

Q: Were you surprised?

A: I was in complete shock that I stood there looking at the sign to make sure I read it correctly. When I turned around Dylan was down on one knee. He then said beautiful words about the two of us and our relationship, and then asked me to marry him. I later found out that some of our best friends were down at the bottom of the mountain holding the 'Will you Marry Me' sign. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful and fitting proposal for us.

Q: Okay, let's back up (I got ahead of myself!)...How did you two meet?

A: Dylan and I are high school sweethearts. We met and began dating when he was a freshman in high school, and I was a sophomore. We actually met through our high schools ski club and have been together since April 11th, 2009. After high school, we both attended University of Maryland, College Park together.

Q: When and where is the wedding?

A: We're getting married at the Farm at Eagles Ridge in Lancaster PA next July 16, 2016.

Q: What is the color scheme for your wedding? (I must say I love Kaitlin's color choice!)

A: Teal, blush, & gold

Q: What are you most looking forward to about married life?

A: I am looking forward to getting to wake up each day next to my best friend, and knowing that we get to spend the rest of our lives together and take on all lives adventures together.

Q: Now to to the fun part, where are you two honeymooning?

A: We are going to Ireland for our honeymoon! Dylan has always wanted to go, and it seems like such a beautiful country to visit. And it will be a nice break from the summer heat!
