Not the traditional wedding cake (or wedding gift!) type of bride? Hoping for something just slightly off the beaten path? Finding the perfect cake alternative for your wedding can be hard, but luckily we compiled a list of yummy desserts that are sure to have your guests forgetting all about the standard wedding cake.

Mini Doughnuts: Typically thought of as a breakfast food, little doughnut holes or miniature sized doughnuts could be the perfect sweet fix for your guests. Mini Doughnuts are very "in" right now, so it might be a trend to try if you have a late summer or fall wedding!

S'mores: Bring out your inner camper! A S'mores bar creates an aesthetically pleasing dessert choice that satisfies any sweet tooth and isn’t your typical piece of cake. Add a fruit station to make your smores bar unique and (slightly) healthier.

Strawberry Shortcake: Planning a summer wedding? Strawberry shortcake is an iconic summer dish that is sure to make guests happy. And this is the perfect pick-up-and-go dessert for the guests who are eagerly awaiting for the band to return from their quick break.

Rock Candy: Who said candy isn’t fancy enough for weddings? Rock candy is fun, decorative, and relish! If you want a cake as your main dessert rock candy is a great way to uniquely accent a classic wedding cake.

Waffle Bar: Who doesn’t love waffles? A waffle bar is an interactive dessert that is sure to be a crowd pleaser, especially with the kids. I think my favorite part about this dessert is that it allows guests to design their sweet perfectly to their liking.

Trail Mix {Bar}: For all you health freaks out there, try a chocolaty trail mix station. This could even be a pre-dance floor dessert to make sure guests are energized and ready to go following the wedding ceremony!

Cotton Candy: If you’re feeling really adventurous you can rent a cotton candy machine and actually have guests make their own cotton candy sticks. Or you can have pre-made and ready-to-grab cotton candy cones, both of which are great options.
The best part about these dessert ideas is most of them can also double as wedding favors. All you need to do is wrap these scrumptious treats in a clear cellophane wrap and tie a silk ribbon to add the finishing touch and voila!
We would love to hear from you! What are you planning to offer as a wedding cake alternative? Do tell!
