Sneak Peek of our New Studio Warehouse Space

FILED IN: Behind-the-Scenes, M&G Happenings

As we've shared, we recently bid farewell to our original 6,000 sq ft M&G studio and have expanded into a newly renovated 14,000 sq ft studio warehouse space. (If you missed it, why we tackled this expansion during the busiest time of the year is here). We spent time coming up with an overall design direction when tackling the expansion so it would be easier to make selections for office flooring, production space flooring, bathroom tile, and all the various paint colors throughout. We decided on a "modern garden" vibe to give us a fresh, energetic, yet calming environment in which to call home!

Here is the mood board we've been working from:

COLOR

For the color palette, we've selected various shades of greens from light all the way to dark and have varied them throughout the main office areas, restrooms, staff break room, conference room, and offices. Colors include Carolina Gull and Essex Green, both by Benjamin Moore. To keep things light and airy in the production areas, we used two different shades of white for walls (White Dove and Simply White, both by Benjamin Moore) and the perfect greige for the trim, Edgecomb Grey, also by Benjamin Moore. We even have a pop of marigold in the production area and can't wait to show you what we're planning for that!

TEXTURE + MATERIALS

For textures, we knew we wanted an earthy organic feel with modern textures for contrast. You'll see multiple types of upholstery used on furniture such as leather, velvet, and linen. We've also mixed materials for furniture such as dark wood, light wood, metal, and wicker. Shelving units are also mixed such as white wood shelving units, glass and chrome, as well as natural pine. Various rugs made of natural fibers are all throughout the office space offering a soft contrast to the painted concrete floors all throughout. And of course, lots of plants to bring to life the garden concept!

LAYOUT

One of the most appealing aspects of our new headquarters is that the production space along with shipping and receiving are now completely separate from our office areas. People enter through the front and pass through our office space which includes a living room set-up to greet clients and even have all-hands meetings, multiple private employee offices, a sample room for mocking up new gift designs, a conference room, an entrance to the staff break room, and two restrooms. If you continue walking through the office space, you'll enter the production area which is divided into two sections: custom design production and a totally separate production room for e-commerce orders and inventory. Shipping and receiving is towards the very back with our three loading docks.

Now that we've made it through holiday rush, we can take some time as a team to get ourselves fully organized for 2022 as well as completing the finishing touches such as hanging art, finishing styling shelves in offices, and making sure our use of the space overall is as efficient as possible. Once this is done, we'll give you the official M&G 2.0 tour and see what you guys think! Can't wait!
