The Great Giftaway' is Over. Meet our Winner!

To celebrate the launch of our brand new 2016 Pre-Designed Gift Collection last week, we hosted an Instagram contest we called The Great Giftaway. Our goal was to make it different than any other contest we've done in the past. Instead of shipping a gift to the winner, we thought it would be more meaningful to allow the winner to have their favorite Marigold & Grey gift shipped to the recipient of their choice. Pay it forward, right?
Okay, time to meet our winner! A huge congratulations goes to Lindel Barber! Not only will she be gifting our "But First Coffee" gift to her sister Ellison, she was kind enough to give us her thoughts on selecting her gift (and recipient!).

I help plan events for my office and I am always looking for vendors local to DC to use for future events and meetings. I stumbled on the Marigold & Grey on Instagram a few weeks ago and after seeing their beautiful gift baskets I have been following them ever since! When I saw the contest I entered hoping I would win one of the beautiful gift baskets for a best friend (even though I am more than tempted to keep it for myself!! ;) ). I was so excited and surprised to have won, and I know that my friend (who is actually my sister), Ellison, will LOVE this surprise. Ellison is one of two sisters I have. She is my roommate and one of my best friends. When I saw the “But First Coffee” gift basket I instantly thought of her. Ellison is a reporter and works the late night shifts for a DC news station. As a result, she has become an avid coffee drinker and I cannot wait to see how excited she is when she receives this extra special and beautiful caffeine pick me up!
I was so touched by Lindel's thoughtfulness towards her sister along with the countless kind and generous remarks from many other contestants on our Instagram feed. I loved how people seemed so passionate about thinking of others rather than themselves. In fact, I was so moved by the responses, we will strictly be doing "giftaways" from now on. The standard giveaway format just won't do!
