How to Incorporate Your Pet Into Your Wedding Welcome Gifts

Back in 2019, you may have caught this post about wedding trends. In this post, we listed the inclusion of dogs in wedding welcome gifts as a trend. Well, fast forward to the spring of 2021, and I can confidently say that this trend hasn't gone anywhere and doesn't appear to be dying down anytime soon. Now that weddings are beginning to pickup as Covid restrictions lift slowly by surely, the large majority of our discovery calls with potential clients involves some sort of discussion about including their pets in their wedding welcome bags. And since we are all about using your welcome gifts to tell your unique story, you know we are here for it!

Today I'm excited to share some of our favorite past projects featuring pets in welcome gifts, specifically dogs. Let it be known up front that we aren't anti-cat around here. In fact, several Marigold & Grey team members have cats. But it just so happens that all of our clients wishing to feature a pet happen to be dog owners. Without further adieu, here are a few fun ways to incorporate your fur babies into your welcome boxes....
CUSTOM DOG COOKIES
By far the most popular way of including your pet in your wedding welcome gifts is to create a custom cookie in their likeness! We've done golden doodles, sheep dogs, german shepherds, pit bulls, bulldogs, and more! Here are some examples...

DOGS IN WELCOME LETTERS
Another way to incorporate your pet in your wedding welcome gifts is to work them into your welcome letter as an extension of you and your significant other. Almost as if to say that the three of you are greeting guests, not just the two of you. It's especially a nice way to feature your pet if you're not actually including them in the wedding festivities.

DOGS ON GIFT TAGS
Another way of incorporating your dog (or cat) in your wedding welcome bags is to feature them front and center on the gift tag on the outside of the gift box. You can have an artist do an illustration of them and use it when designing your gift tags.

SOME OTHER IDEAS
Of course there are countless other ways you can feature your pet in your wedding welcome boxes including creating custom labels for your water bottles, featuring their face on personalized socks, featuring them on personalized koozies or cups, and more. With the ability to personalize almost any item these days, the sky really is the limit when it comes to including your fur baby in your hotel guest gifts.
