Meet our New Inventory Assistant, Stephanie Chin

We couldn't be more excited to introduce you to our newest M&G team member, Stephanie Chin! Stephanie has a very big and very important job as our newest 'Inventory Assistant.'
Organizing our gifting inventory is right up there with tying the perfect bow when it comes to mission critical jobs at M&G! She'll be responsible for keeping track of incoming gift content shipments and exercising quality control over all of the gifting inventory that comes through our warehouse. She'll have eyes on everything, inspecting each and every piece. She'll make sure that each gift item is perfect before it gets placed inside of a gift box whether its for a custom gift design or a curated gift box in our e-commerce online shop.
Stephanie has much experience in the ways of team M&G, as she has helped us out for several years during the busy holiday season with gift assembly and production. We are so thankful to have her more regularly now, and are grateful for not only her organizational skills, but her kind demeanor and attention to detail.
Keep reading to meet Stephanie in her own words!
Tell us a little about yourself:
Hi, my name is Stephanie. I grew up in Bethesda, Maryland and now I’m raising my own family in Bethesda. I graduated from the University of Maryland for undergrad and Johns Hopkins University for grad school. I have been married to my husband, Chris, for 14 years and counting, and we have three children, Jordan, Ian, and Leah. As a busy mom of three, I am always taking my kids from one activity to another, but when I have a moment to myself you can find me taking a fitness class or ballet class, running 5 and 10Ks, sipping on a green tea latte, or shopping at Target! I love traveling and planning my next family vacation.
What attracted you to the Inventory Assistant position?
I love the hands-on, fast-paced, creative work environment at M&G and the flexibility of my position. It offers me the right balance between work and motherhood.
What were you doing before joining M&G and how do you think it will benefit you in your new position?
I worked in IT for 16 years until I decided to pause my career to become a stay-at-home mom. I was home with my kids for three years before joining M&G part-time as a seasonal production assistant during the busy holiday season. After two holidays at M&G, I was thrilled and honored when I was offered a position to join the team on a regular basis. My days in IT required me to be detail-oriented and accurate, both of which are important for my position at M&G.
What do you look forward to about this job?
I look forward to seeing all the curated items that go into each gift and seeing how everything comes together from beginning to end.
A favorite celebrity wedding?
I was a loyal Bachelor and Bachelorette fan for many years, and Trista (the original Bachelorette) and Ryan Sutter’s wedding is still a favorite. I was rooting for them since their first episode, and I was so happy they ended up together. They’re still married 20 years later!
A favorite movie?
The Princess Bride is a classic that I can watch over and over again. There are so many great lines from that movie.
A favorite summertime travel destination?
My favorite travel destination is Costa Rica. It is a beautiful country that offers both adventure and relaxation. I traveled to Costa Rica for my honeymoon and celebrated two anniversaries there, so it’s a very special place.
A favorite Instagram account these days?
I honestly only use Instagram to follow the M&G account! Facebook is my social media platform of choice and I get a lot of my travel inspiration from a group called, Families Who Love To Travel.
The best gift you’ve ever given?
My son will probably tell you that the best gift I ever gave him was a trip to Disney World for his 10th birthday. Of course, my other two kids are expecting a trip to Disney World when they turn 10 too!
