Meet our New Custom Gifting Production Lead, Maria Rodriguez

We are excited to introduce you to our newest M&G team member, Maria Rodriguez! You've likely seen her in many of our Instagram stories, but we've been waiting for the right moment to officially introduce her to you! Maria joins the M&G team as our 'Custom Gifting Production Lead' and she'll be responsible for coordinating our custom gift production from start to finish. She started with us as a seasonal helper during holiday last year and continued into this year assisting with custom builds. We then brought her on as a permanent team member and promoted her from production assistant to production lead! With so many custom gift designs in the works (and a very very busy holiday season in sight!), we're incredibly thankful to have her expertise, good humor, and non-stop work ethic. Now, keep reading to learn all about Maria in her own words!
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF:
Originally from the Lone Star state, I am a proud Houstonian born and raised. My family is expansive and close, so gatherings are filled with loving company, delicious food and great chisme (gossip)! I am an avid soccer fan and supporter, a passion that began when I played the sport during my elementary and high school years. I now call Silver Spring, Maryland my second home and frequently enjoy venturing out to local points of interest. It has turned out to be a great place to satisfy my love for travel, music and gastronomy.
WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO THE PRODUCTION LEAD - CUSTOM GIFTING POSITION?
I enjoy being in a fast paced environment where I can learn and grow. M&G offered this plus it is a woman-owned business which inspires me to be my best.
WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE JOINING M&G AND HOW DO YOU THINK IT WILL BENEFIT YOU IN YOUR NEW POSITION?
I worked as a pawn broker, a position where you quickly learn to think fast on your feet. It taught me the importance of being part of a team and how to successfully manage challenging situations!
WHAT DO YOU LOOK FORWARD TO ABOUT THIS JOB?
Aside from bringing happiness to our clients, it is learning something new everyday that keeps me interested.
A FAVORITE CELEBRITY WEDDING?
The Kravis Wedding! Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian had their wedding in the Italian Riviera. I love destination weddings!
A FAVORITE MOVIE?
I have too many favorites but my go-to genre is horror / thriller movies because I love getting scared.
FAVORITE SUMMERTIME TRAVEL DESTINATION?
I took a road trip from Texas to Pensacola Beach, Florida. The beaches were beautiful and the water was emerald green!
A FAVORITE INSTA ACCOUNT THESE DAYS?
I have two favorite accounts, the first one is the National Women’s Soccer League (@nwsl) to keep up with the games and scores and the second one is Flav City (@flavcity) to find new recipes and learn about healthy food choices.
THE BEST GIFT YOU'VE EVER GIVEN?
I had a pair of earrings given to me by my late grandmother and when my niece turned 15 years old I gave her those earrings so she can cherish them as I did.
