It's M&G team introduction time! We are thrilled to introduce you to our newest team member, Jenny Atkins. Jenny joins our mighty female gifting team as our Studio Concierge. If you call our headquarters, you need help, or you have a question about anything at all, you will likely be communicating with Jenny. She will be doing a little bit of everything from customer relations to client support to gift assembly to assisting our gift design process every step of the way. Her main focus will be to get you, our customers, everything you need and answer your questions. She will also be on-hand to support our entire team as we gear up for another busy holiday gifting season. We are so thankful to have Jenny!

Without further ado, please meet Jenny as she shares a little bit about herself in her own words.

Tell us a little about yourself:‌

I grew up in Cambridge, MA, and moved to the DC area to attend college at GWU. I have been here ever since. I love this area but miss fall in New England, the Red Sox, Fenway Park, and the snow – I am one of the few people that loves the snow and cold weather!!

I live in Germantown, MD, my house backs to Black Hills State Park. I love hiking around the park with my husband and our rescue dog, Roo. We also have a rescue cat, Bandit, but Bandit refuses to participate in the hiking! My favorite pastime is sitting out on my deck and reading. Detective, spy and thriller books are my favorite – same for TV shows.

I love eating and trying new foods (so does Bandit!), but I am not a very good cook. So, my second favorite pastime is going out to eat! Seafood is a favorite, and I go back and forth as to whether lobster, crab cakes, or fried clams are the best. But if I’m being honest, a Fenway Frank with mustard probably rates #1…..lobster rolls, crab cakes and fried clams will have to fight it out for #2.

What attracted you to the Studio Concierge position?‌

I was drawn to the job description, and when I went to M&G’s website to check out the business, I became enamored and felt instantly drawn to it. The description of my role included many things that I knew I was good at and enjoyed from previous jobs; plus, the company sounded unique – not your average 9-5 corporate office job. The opportunity to work for a small but growing women owned and led company was very appealing

What were you doing before joining M&G, and how do you think it will benefit you in your new position?‌

Most recently, I served as the Director of Operations & Listings for a boutique real estate brokerage in MOCO (Montgomery County). I had to blend a high level of attention to detail with more creative aspects like writing, creating brochure copy, and managing photo shoots.

I was able to hone my organizational skills and learned to juggle numerous priorities while under strict deadlines. Once I understood the business, I was able to see patterns and make suggestions regarding operations and marketing/business development. I hope to do the same at M&G as I gain knowledge and experience.

What do you look forward to about this job?‌

The variety and learning the ins and outs of a new industry!

 A favorite celebrity wedding?‌

Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell – I love that they had a courthouse wedding, only spent $142, and wanted it to be an intimate event just for them.

A favorite movie?‌

Casablanca.

A favorite travel destination?‌

Alaska was the most amazing place I have visited; I was able to spend a summer living there when I was in college. My dream future destinations include The fjords in Norway, Scotland, Croatia, and anywhere in the Alps.

A favorite Instagram account these days?‌

Matt Lionetti, The Agency.

What is the best gift you’ve ever given?

For a friend who moved away, a personalized photo book with famous funny or topical quotes to accompany the photos.

We hope that you enjoyed meeting Jenny and learning a little bit more about her role here at M&G! Stay tuned to our @marigoldgrey Instagram as we get ready for the holidays and share more behind the scenes action of our gifting team!
