Farm-to-Table Inspired Welcome Baskets for a Virginia Wedding at Salamander Resort

You may recall a few weeks ago when I shared a set of custom flower girl and ring bearer baskets we designed for a wedding at the Salamander Resort in Middleburg, Virginia. Today, it's time to share the gifts that went to all of the adults because they're definitely worth talking about! Events in the City pulled together an incredible farm-to-table inspired event where no detail was spared. The basket design was certainly no exception.
I view all welcome gift designs as a jigsaw puzzle for me to solve where I must balance function (will the guests love it?), style (does it visually set the tone for the wedding weekend?) and practicality (will they show up looking amazing and STAY looking amazing?). This design achieved all three pieces of the puzzle and is definitely one of my favorites. We combined artisan caramels, Virginia peanuts and a custom-baked GW University cookie (both the bride and groom were alums). With the wedding in Virginia and the goodies from Virginia, the cookie was a great way to show off some DC roots!
To achieve the farm-to-table feel, fresh fruit was a must! Along with the packaged snacks, I included red apples for a pop of color along with green grapes to compliment vintage ginger ale bottles.
Finishing touches are important. I lined the copper wire baskets with navy ticking stripe napkins to further add to the farm fresh feel. A kraft tag with "welcome" in white calligraphy along with a silver satin ribbon polished off the look!
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to Laura at Events in the City for this design opportunity! We sincerely hope all of the guests adored their gifts and that they set the stage for an incredible wedding weekend in Middleburg.
